“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
– Proverbs 15:1 (NIV)
I’m concerned about how a number of us, anti-spec designers respond to those on the “other side”. Some comments regrettably sound like personal attacks. It should only be the deed (spec work) that we hate and condemn, not the doers. They are people too, perhaps with families to support, simply trying to make ends meet in the best (or only) way they know how. Harsh words only bring up their defenses, making them even more deaf and blind to reason. Besides, it’s almost impossible to win an angry person to your (our) side.
Can we try “a gentle answer?”
